The East Bay Regional Park District engaged Shah Kawasaki Architects to prepare a feasibility study for a new visitor center at Point Pinole Regional Shoreline in Richmond, California. The study included preparation of a program, biological and cultural resource analysis, evaluation of multiple sites, recommendation of one site and a conceptual design with cost estimate. Sensitive Park resources include wetland habitats and native California grasslands. The recommended site/design balances public access and preservation of resources.
