Oakland Unified School District Educational Leadership Complex

Shah Kawasaki Architects completed the design of Oakland Unified School District’s renovation of the Educational Leadership Complex located on the southwest side of Lake Merritt. Our collaborative effort with OUSD created a design inspired by principles embodied in the OUSD Core Belief Statement. The scope of work includes the rehabilitation of two historic structures, Paul Robeson Building & Ethel Moore Building.  Also included is the design of a new MPR building for adjacent Dewey Academy. The site design accommodates 42 parking spaces and a Memorial Plaza dedicated to Dr. Marcus Foster.
