Golden Gate Recreation Center

The Golden Gate Recreation Center serves as a vital community facility to the families of the surrounding North Oakland neighborhood. The community was highly engaged in the preparation of the buildings program/design which includes a high-school-regulation-sized basketball gymnasium, multi-purpose activity rooms for seniors and youth, a teaching kitchen, a teen center, and an adjoining computer lab for study. The L-shaped floor plan embraces the exterior patio and play area. The sprung floor stage area can open to the gymnasium, to an exterior amphitheater, or be closed off for dance classes
